Freight Delivery Instructions

You or the individual receiving the shipment on your behalf must carefully inspect your order upon delivery. Please follow the step-by-step guide below when receiving freight shipments.

Following these instructions helps protect your order and allows you to properly report any damages that may have occurred during transit.

Under no circumstances should you feel pressured by the freight driver to sign for a shipment unless you are fully satisfied with its condition.

If you experience any issues during delivery, please contact:

1. Standard Freight Delivery

Standard freight delivery means the driver will bring your shipment to the edge of the truck only.

If you selected standard delivery:

  • You will be responsible for removing the items from the truck.

  • The driver will usually position the truck at the closest and safest location, such as a loading dock or delivery entrance.

If your location does not have a loading dock or forklift, we strongly recommend selecting Liftgate Delivery when placing your order.

The driver will not unload the freight or move it inside your building.

Plan Ahead

Before the delivery arrives, ensure you have:

  • Enough people available to help unload the shipment

  • Equipment such as:

    • Forklift

    • Pallet jack

    • Hand truck

    • Dolly

    • Crowbar or similar tools

Proper preparation will help ensure a safe and efficient delivery process.

2. Inspect the Packaging for Damage

Carefully inspect the outer packaging and pallet before signing the delivery receipt.

Look for:

  • Torn packaging

  • Crushed corners

  • Broken pallets

  • Visible dents or damage

If there is visible external damage, refuse the shipment and inform the driver immediately.

Do not sign the delivery receipt.

Contact Daysun Restaurant Supplies Shop immediately so we can arrange a replacement shipment.

Once a shipment is signed for and accepted, the receiver assumes responsibility for the items.

3. Unpack the Shipment Before Signing

Even if the packaging appears undamaged, you should unpack and inspect the contents before signing.

You have the right to inspect your shipment fully before accepting delivery.

Freight drivers are required to wait while you inspect the order.

If the driver refuses to wait or pressures you to sign, contact us immediately at:

📞 +1 210 370-7180

4. Inspect the Equipment Carefully

After unpacking the shipment, carefully inspect all items.

Check for:

  • Scratches, dents, or damage to exterior panels

  • Crushed or bent corners

  • Damage to pipes, coils, tubes, or grillwork

  • Cracks or scratches in glass or plastic components

If significant damage is discovered, you may need to refuse the shipment.

Minor cosmetic damage may sometimes be repairable, such as replacing a panel or glass component. If you are unsure, contact our support team immediately to discuss your options before signing.

The driver must wait while you determine whether the shipment should be accepted or refused.

Important Note

Freight carriers may charge detention fees if the truck must wait too long during unloading or inspection.

These fees may range between $85 and $200, depending on the carrier.

To avoid delays, please plan your inspection efficiently.

5. Signing for the Delivery

After inspecting your shipment, you can either accept or refuse the delivery.

If no significant damage is found:

  • Sign the delivery paperwork

  • Keep all shipping documents for your records

If minor cosmetic damage is present but you choose to accept the shipment, make sure the damage is clearly noted on the Bill of Lading before signing.

If you are unsure whether the damage is repairable, contact Daysun Restaurant Supplies Shop before signing the paperwork.

Once a shipment is signed for and accepted, responsibility for the items transfers to the receiver. Claims for freight damage may become difficult after acceptance.

If serious damage is present, refusing the shipment will allow us to arrange a replacement more quickly.
